The Bishop's Commission on Gay and Lesbian Ministries

"No matter where you are on your spiritual journey, the Episcopal Church welcomes you... gay, straight, or otherwise!"

It's in the spirit of this radical welcome that the Bishop’s Commission on Gay & Lesbian Ministry, a group of laity and clergy (appointed and volunteer) from throughout the diocese, work together to represent, develop, and advance outreach and education for the full inclusion, witness, and discipleship of LGBT persons in the body of Christ.
Welcome! Looking for information? Find it here:
How do I find an affirming and welcoming church in my area? Download a .pdf version of our "Welcoming Parishes" brochure, or Email us at: BCGLM-owner@yahoogroups.com  with information about where you're located and what type of parish community you're looking for.
What resources are available to help me and/or my community of faith be more informed about and understanding of issues/concerns of gay & lesbian persons and their families and friends? INTEGRITY: a nonprofit organization of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender [LGBT] Episcopalians and our straight friends, leading grassroots voice for the full inclusion of LGBT persons in the Episcopal Church and our equal access to its rites.

Claiming the Blessing: an organization of Episcopalians promoting the church blessing of same-sex relationships and advocating for full inclusion of all the baptized in all sacraments of the church, including the selection of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered candidates as bishops, priests, and lay leaders where they are otherwise qualified.

Contact a PFLAG chapter near you. Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) is a national non-profit organization promoting the health and well-being of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender persons, their families and friends through: support, to cope with an adverse society; education, to enlighten an ill-informed public; and advocacy, to end discrimination and to secure equal civil rights.

I'd like to stay informed and "be in the know" about GLBT activities around the diocese. No problem - it's as easy as signing-up to be on our email list.  You can join our list one of two ways:

a. Visit our Yahoo!Group page and click "Join This Group!" (button in the lower right) and follow the instruction to create your user ID, or

b. Email your name, contact information, and parish/congregation affiliation to: BCGLM-owner@yahoogroups.com and watch for further instructions.

Actually, I'm ready to get more involved, attend regular meetings, and help lead some of the Commission's ministry efforts. Great!  Contact one of our Co-Chairs:
