Kaleidoscope Winter Institute
February 27–March 2, 2012
As a result of inquiries from people who wanted to come to our Summer Institute but knew that there would be a conflict in their schedules, we have decided to continue offering a Winter Training Institute at the end of February in Los Angeles. This year's event begins on Monday morning and ends on Friday afternoon.
The Winter Institute this year offers our newest course, Course V, Holy Currencies: Emergent Conversations on Money and Sustainable Ministry.n
The cost is $450 per person . This includes food; lodging at the Cathedral Center Retreat Center in Echo Park is available for $55 per night, as well.
We recommended that you plan on arriving on Sunday, Feb.26 and leave on Saturday, March 3. You will want to stay until 5 p.m. on Friday in order for us to cover all the course material.
The program will be more intense than the Summer Institute, without a one-day break in between the two courses. There are evening classes on Monday and Tuesday. Therefore, we recommend that you do not plan any personal outings on those two nights. The evenings of Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are free.

COURSE V
Holy Currencies: Emergent Conversations on Money and Sustainable Ministry
This workshop will examine how money as a currency of exchange has become the principal valuing system of our life, work and ministry. We will name money as a principality and power that seeks to be god and steer us away from the God of truth and grace. In order to recall money to its original calling, to serve and support human community interchange, we will engage participants in dialogue about other kinds of currencies that support the kingdom of God—for example, the currency of relationship, the currency of truth, the currency of grace, etc. How do the other currencies connect with money leading to sustainable ministries? We will take our clues from the Bible and from the revolutionizing world of “freeconomic” and “freemium” financing sparked by the innovation of the Internet and the World Wide Web.
Prerequisite: Course I or the equivalent
